The Halloween Batch — Pumpkins, Witches and One Friendly Skeleton
The Halloween batch is in the shop: everlasting crochet pumpkins, a green witch bauble, an orange pumpkin, a friendly skeleton and a purple bauble.

Before the red and green completely takes over the craft room, I have to tell you about the batch that is currently sharing the table with it: Halloween. The yarn basket has been a glorious tangle of orange, green, purple and white for a few weeks now, and the results are all in the shop and ready to post.

The crochet Halloween pumpkins are the heart of it — proper little squashes crocheted in autumn shades, with ridges, stalks and curling tendrils. They start at £5 for the small ones and go up to £10 for the statement pumpkins, and unlike the carving kind, these last: no candles, no mouldy faces on the doorstep, no sad collapse before the 31st. They come out of the box every October, year after year.
On the tree (because yes, my tree is up before Halloween, and I feel no shame), there is a whole spooky cast. The green witch ribbon bauble at £7 is folded pin by pin just like the Christmas ones, complete with a witch's hat — she watches over the living room from the branches. The orange pumpkin hanging decoration is a dinky £4.50, the white skeleton ribbon bauble at £7 is as friendly as skeletons get, and the purple fabric bauble at £5.50 adds the proper spooky-season colour.
Halloween decorations that keep are a lovely idea if you have little ones who get very attached to things — nothing gets thrown away on 1st November, and the whole cast simply waits in the box for next year. Several families tell me the pumpkin basket now comes out before the Christmas one, which is exactly the sort of thing I like to hear.
You can find the whole Halloween collection in the online shop now — pumpkins here, the witch here, the little pumpkin here, the skeleton here and the purple bauble here. Made by hand in Devon and shipped across the UK and worldwide. Happy early Halloween!
