A Pot of Primroses That Will Never Sulk
A lilac crochet primrose in a ceramic-style pot — all the charm of spring with none of the watering. Meet her in this week's journal.

Real primroses are lovely and slightly temperamental. Mine are lovely and entirely reliable. This week's journal is about the lilac crochet primrose in her little pot — one of the springtime makes that people constantly ask me to make more of.

Each bloom is crocheted from soft cotton yarn in a gentle lilac, with a cheerful yellow centre, and sits on a bed of dark green crocheted foliage. The whole thing is planted in a ceramic-style pot, so it looks like a proper little plant you might have bought at the garden centre — except this one will still look exactly like this next spring, and the spring after that.
At £12 she is one of the most rewarding things I make: see her here. No watering, no dead-heading, no drooping the week after Mothering Sunday. Just a permanent little patch of spring on the windowsill, desk or shelf.

She is a lovely gift for anyone who loves flowers but cannot keep them alive — and I say that with enormous sympathy, because I count myself firmly in that camp. Birthdays, Easter, Mother's Day or a Thinking of You parcel: she travels well and arrives already in bloom.
These are made in small batches, and if you would like more than one, do contact me and I can make them to order. Thank you, as ever, for reading the journal!
